Sushi Roll

Sushi Roll is a runner, not a cooking game, and the sushi is the vehicle rather than the dish. Famobi puts it plainly on its own page: the rolls are not there to be eaten.

You travel through an Asian kitchen at a speed you do not control, and the game is about reading the track ahead. Holes and obstacles both end a run, so the distance you cover is the score and nothing is cooked, served or decorated at any point.

Coins picked up along the way buy the only progression there is: more sushi to ride, as skins rather than recipes. There is a leaderboard attached, which is the clearest sign of what kind of game this actually is.

How to play Sushi Roll

Steer, dodge, collect, go further

  • Start the run and keep the roll on the track.
  • Steer around the obstacles and over the gaps.
  • Pick up the coins on the way through.
  • Spend them on new sushi to ride.
  • Try to get further than the last attempt.

Controls

One pointer: steer with the mouse on a computer or by touch on a phone. Nothing else is needed.

Tips and strategy

Learn the sections rather than reacting to them, because the speed is not yours to manage and the same hazards come round in the same order. Take the coins that sit on your line and leave the ones that pull you across the track. A longer run beats a rich one, since the distance is what the leaderboard measures.
